Through an intimate exhibition, Posas demonstrates her skill in cast metal sculpture, through an exploration of composition and decomposition of matter.
Since completing her Masters of Visual Arts in 2002 at the Victorian College of the Arts, Joanna has further been exploring the build-up and breakdown of matter through a literal physical breakdown of material and through the conceptual means of human fragility. Since working with cast metal, Joanna has experimented with the effects that occur when in reaction to other substances, both in and out of fire. These effects are evident in her sculpture work, and create further emphasis on her expressive intent.
