An alumnus of Monash and Newcastle Universities, artist Dominic Kavanaghʼs new exhibition features sculptural assemblages of found materials. Stories From Mr Perkins' Shed is an exploration into the nostalgic associations and childhood memories of a mysterious junk-filled shed and its illusive owner.

This show presents the latest creations from a continuously evolving body of work. They are best described as whimsical manifestations from my ever-growing collection of found objects. I am attracted to these potential art materials for their aesthetic and ruinous qualities. I am interested in their circumstance as dysfunctional materials, no longer having purpose in the utilitarian world; I see myself as intervening in their entropic descent within a wilderness of refuse.
